Tonight James and I headed down to Academy Cinema to check out NZ director Florian Habicht's film Land of the Long White Cloud. It is a peek into the lives of the locals up north in Kaitaia as they compete in a 5 day fishing competition. I loved this movie so much that my face hurt by the end from smiling. Even though fishing isn't my thing and I wasn't too happy watching the 'killing' part, Habicht asks the wide range of characters interesting questions that they are more than happy to be open about. Truly a heart warming film, it reminded me of my childhood living in Papamoa and I left feeling nostalgic about our beautiful country.
